Ben was diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome at the age of about thirty seconds, and spent his first two weeks in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Wycombe Hospital. Physically he’s more or less OK, but he does have a learning disability and needs one-on-one assistance at school.
That said, he’s an alert, bright boy and a pleasure to spend time with - even if it’s sometimes very hard work!
